Good Morning Sunshine

There are not many do-overs in life, but there are fresh starts. Some are chosen and filled with great excitement while others are just another step in the path the Lord has laid in front of us. Some have said that doing the Will of God is just doing the next thing.

Although this blog is really for me, I trust as I move through transition into Chapter Four of my life, you will ride this roller-coaster with me as a friend and companion and hopefully, we will all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Time of Rest

On our first visit to Greece in 2005, we observed that the culture was somewhere between a third world county and Europe. Although the tourist sections have been upgraded since they joined the European Union, some of the back areas still seem to be in another century.

That is how we felt when we drove up to the Elegant Beach Hotel. Although it is the nicest building in the area and you can see the beach from our balcony, it is neither Elegant nor Beachy and we wondered if we would stay the full 5 days. However, I picked up a bug/cold somewhere and just needed a place to crash and sleep and since the room is comfortable we have stayed put.

Rich has enjoyed swimming in the Gulf of Kyparissia and I have - well - I have slept. So it was a good choice.

On the 11th we were shocked to wake up to the news of Charlie Kirk's assassination and the attack on Poland from Russia. It's scary to watch what is happening in our world - and yet life goes on.

Since I was feeling a little better we took a ride to Kalamata. We thought it would be a quaint city, but it did not impress us and we drove back and just rested the remainder of the day.

Today we plan to take another ride to Olympia where the Olympics were first held. We've been before, but feel up to a drive so decided to head up the way.

Here are a few pictures from our time in the Peloponnese.

On the 18th and 19th we will be staying with Fotis and Mary Romeos, and on the 20th we will meet our son Bradley and his wife Melissa at the airport and work through our first 10 days in Athens, Santorini and Naxos with them.

We have been wondering what to do for the next 5 days before that all happens. We have reached our limit of exploring and want to just relax and enjoy the environment so wanted a place that was comfortable and not too expensive. So, after a lot of research, we decided to take the ferry to the island of Aegina and enjoy.

See you There!
