Barcelona

We traveled by train from Madrid to Barcelona. Wonderful experience! I wish our airplane seats were this comfortable.

Unlike Madrid, Barcelona was warmer and we were able to put our sweaters away and enjoy the sunshine, After checking into our hotel we began to wander the streets. It is a stopping point for Cruises, so the streets were crowded; but since we are not in a hurry we took Pooh's suggestion and just wandered aimlessly.

After another great breakfast we jumped on the hop on hop off bus to get an overview of the city

Our third day we visited the Sagrada Familia. It is an amazing architecural structure; a famous cathedral designed by Gaudi. He began this work in 1882 and is still unfinished, hoping to compete it in 2035. Each window, spiral and column has significant meaning, but it would take a book to explain it all. In summary, he wanted to incorporate nature into everything. One of his famous quotes was "originality consist in returning to the original."
