As I sit in my peaceful community watching the sun rise over the mountains my heart goes out to those who have been effected by the physical and economical chaos that is presently engulfing our world. At one time I had said that "God could with one sweep take it all away," but I never dreams it would come in the form of a pandemic and rioting, where peaceful demonstrations concerning racial injustice would turn into a "mob-ruled society" with politicians tripping over themselves, abandoning all form of reason, to appease the unruly. WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN!
For years I have read the book of Revelation and wondered how the whole world be willing to follow one leader and yet as I look at the headlines, I can see where it is entirely possible. At this point in history we are set up for a one world leader who would come on the scene, promise peace and prosperity and the whole world would get on board. So, more than ever before, I am looking daily for the return of Christ that will set it all in motion.
2020 was supposed to be the start of a more retired/relaxed life. Our plan was to leave on May 4 for Italy, after I had finished the tax season and Rich had finished his teaching semester at Grand Canyon University.
BUT! Well, you know what happened!!! COVID-19!!! Our trip was cancelled along with future plans for 2020 travel, my tax season was extended until July 15 and Rich started distance teaching, and he hasn't preached since the February.
HOWEVER! Since our small group of Soteria people have decided not to meet for a while, Rich was asked to preach at New Hope Fellowship for the next few weeks. So today starts another "New Beginnings." Now sure where it will all lead, but we are learning to accept each day as it arrives and have decided to make an effort to enjoy each day - - knowing that God is in control.
We are still hoping to resume our travel plans in May 2021! BUT!!
Our choices are seldom simple or straightforward; right or wrong; yes or no. They are more often complex and conflictive and intertwined with the decisions made by others. (Quote from the book: If I Had It To Do It Over, I Would Pick More Daisies)
Good Morning Sunshine
There are not many do-overs in life, but there are fresh starts. Some are chosen and filled with great excitement while others are just another step in the path the Lord has laid in front of us. Some have said that doing the Will of God is just doing the next thing.
Although this blog is really for me, I trust as I move through transition into Chapter Four of my life, you will ride this roller-coaster with me as a friend and companion and hopefully, we will all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
