Naxos

We arrived at the Naxos Beach Resort on September 3 after a 4 hour ferry ride. It's good to be on the islands again and I can see why Naxos is a summer resort for the people of Greece. It's noted for its winds and there is always a breeze.  Our rooms on the main floor very close to the pool and we have spent time cooling off after a long walk in the Plaka.

We asked when people stopped coming to Naxos and they said the end of October. The ferries will run all years, but they won't go on choppy seas so they are limited.

Unlike Crete and Samos, Naxos is rocky and is noted for their white marble that they mine and transport all over the world. It's amazingly white and iridescent. We just might need to bring something home to show you.

As usual we are intrigued but the food of Greece. Breakfast have several different styles of eggs, croissants in many shapes and sizes and of course wonderfully creamy greek yogurt and local honey.

Since we didn't hit the road running, it is taking us longer to get over jet lag, but that's OK since we have lots of time. Here are a few pictures to enjoy
