Good Morning Sunshine

There are not many do-overs in life, but there are fresh starts. Some are chosen and filled with great excitement while others are just another step in the path the Lord has laid in front of us. Some have said that doing the Will of God is just doing the next thing.

Although this blog is really for me, I trust as I move through transition into Chapter Four of my life, you will ride this roller-coaster with me as a friend and companion and hopefully, we will all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We landed!

Traveling is not what it used to be. With the addition of TSA after 9/11 we thought that we had entered into a new era of traveling. Now COVID had upped it up a notch. Instead of just carrying identification we now need to wear masks, show our vaccine card and negative covid tests. With each country and entity having different rules, we are always concerned if we have the right papers.

But inspite of it all the airplane was full of adventurers.

We left Phoenix at 7:15 a.m on September 1and arrived in Athens at 10:15 a.m. on September 2. After arriving at our our hotel, we took a shower and walked the waterfront, stopping for some fresh squeezed orange juice and a greek salad. Then back to our room for a nap.

After a rest we set about finding an ATM so we could withdraw some EURO's so we would have some local cash with us. But most of our expenses will be put on credit card to get the best exchange rate. Then, at the appropriate local time of 8:30 pm we had our first real meal - Mix Grilled Meats Fry's - Delicious.

Then we headed up to our room for a good nights rest. Our internal clock is still off a bit so we both awoke at 3:30 a.m. and headed to breakfast at 6 a.m.

Then off to the Ferry for our destination of Naxos where we will be staying for the next 8 days.

Everything else wonderful about touring Greece aside, you're starting off just like I would: eating! I want a real Greek salad from Greece: bet they didn't ask what type of dressing you want like they do so often here (at which point I cancel my order). Enjoy your trip.
