With fear and trembling we signed on the dotted line as we handed over our life savings for a down payment on our new home. Whew! With that finalized, we begin the process of moving into our new home. Throughout the week we had moved some of the more delicate things and Saturday, as I waited for the rests of the movers to come, I randomly turned on the itunes on my computer. The first song that came up was a song from Children's Bible Hour. It went like this:
This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith
And determination
Don't loose the vision here
Carried away by emotions
Hold on to all that you hold in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the World Together
God is In Control
We believe that his children will not be forsaken
God is In Control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him
We know OH OH OH
God is In Control OH OH OH
God is In Control
God is so gracious, isn't He? Just when we were making our move final, He reminded us that HE IS IN CONTROL. One year ago, I would never have dreamed this scenario. But as the 25+ worker bees began loading and unloading our stuff, we realized we have a new family now; people who love and cherish us and value our input into their lives.
For those God entrusted to us in the past and for those He has entrusted to us in the present & future . . .
We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Thessalonians 1:2-3)
Our choices are seldom simple or straightforward; right or wrong; yes or no. They are more often complex and conflictive and intertwined with the decisions made by others. (Quote from the book: If I Had It To Do It Over, I Would Pick More Daisies)
Good Morning Sunshine
There are not many do-overs in life, but there are fresh starts. Some are chosen and filled with great excitement while others are just another step in the path the Lord has laid in front of us. Some have said that doing the Will of God is just doing the next thing.
Although this blog is really for me, I trust as I move through transition into Chapter Four of my life, you will ride this roller-coaster with me as a friend and companion and hopefully, we will all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The WOW Factor
The introduction is complete and page one of Chapter Four is about to begin. The last 6 months were spent planning, moving, and adjusting to our new surroundings. In other words; culture shock. Besides our time in Africa where we expected to experience culture shock, we have experienced this before. Over the last 37 years, we have come to realize the uniqueness of each State within the USA and New Jersey is no different. I can only say that the friendliness of the people of South Jersey has been overwhelming and I'm loving the availability of fresh fruits, veggies and fish. Now as we move into our new home it becomes final. No turning back.
In Day 31 of our study of 365 Jesus, John introduces Jesus as the Lamb of God. That phrase always send chills up my back. Picture yourself as a godly Jewish person who was truly looking for the Messiah. The Old Testament predicted that is would happen soon and then you hear about someone preaching down by the river. You go to the river and in a distance you see this man walking toward the preacher. Then the preacher says "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"Could it really be true? Is this really the Messiah? You watch and listen you hear about a voice from heaven saying "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased" and you sing in your heart "the Messiah has come." What joy, what hope, what overwhelming gratitude to the Lord for allowing you to see this day.
But what do I do now? tomorrow? how do I live my everyday life?
Then comes Day 34: Mary had a great solution. Her belief in her son as the Messiah prompted her to express to those around her and to us
"It is His business to lead, command, impel, send, call, or whatever you want to call it. It is your business to obey, follow, move, respond, or what have you." Jim Elliott
Someone once said that doing the Will of God is just doing the next thing. As we start page one, entitled the Wow Factor we look forward to moving into our new home and once again using it to minister to others.
